Gosport, Hampshire
9th October 2008

Gosport Borough is on the opposite side of the harbour to Portsmouth and south of Fareham. The lighting in this borough has its own unique style - some of it common to the neighbouring areas but also containing lighting not found in adjacent areas. Original colour scheme for columns was dark grey base and lighter grey for the column tube. Most replacements are now however in "Hampshire light green."

As part of Hampshire, this borough will have its lighting replaced as part of the forthcoming PFI.

Rare and unusual tapered square section steel column that has seen better days. These are likely to be original to the road circa early 1960's. However the lantern a GEC5670 running 35W SOX dates from the 1970s as it has a GRP canopy.
